Let’s face it, in order to stay relevant we need to be creating content on a daily basis across way too many social channels – a facebook post here, an Instagram poll there, a Pinterest blog, and now even tiktok?! It’s all a bit overwhelming and it’s easy to feel like you’re drowning in the demand to keep up. Trust me, I know. I struggle with this every day.

But there is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. Automating as much as possible of your workflow is probably the biggest key to staying consistent and most importantly, on brand! You want someone to see your images and immediately know that it’s yours. No matter where it might pop up – be it Pinterest, a blog, or Facebook. Your style and brand is the most important identity for creating your niche.

I began using Lightroom Presets, which are basically filters/ settings you apply to your photos in one click in Adobe Lightroom, about 2 years ago. It changed the game for me! Instead of sitting in front of an image trying to figure out what works best, or how to get a consistent look, it now took one click, and maybe a little bit of adjusting afterwards, and Boom! I was done!

As you can see it dramatically altered the look of my Instagram and took it from fairly amateur to looking consistent and intentional. And, I’ll let you in on a little secret – all of the photos in the larger image were edited with the same preset! (one of my favorites, Bocas del Toro)

Sure, every preset doesn’t work on every image, and the time of day, light, settings, etc will all affect how the preset will look on an image. But if you have your shooting style, you will likely not need more than 2-3 reliable presets to get that consistent look. I rarely use more than 2 and some minor tweaks on my images. That means I can edit all my photos from a day out, say 20 odd photos in less than 5-10 minutes.

In the before and after example above you can see the quick clean-up all done with one click!

The best part? You don’t have to try and have the same color scenery, clothing, etc in each image. I tried doing this for a while when I first started out to get that on-brand look, but it’s not quite the same. As you can see from the above example, it doesn’t matter if city, fall, or mountains in winter, the aesthetic is the same thanks to the preset.

Since it’s been tough times lately, you can get one of my presets completely free! Click the link above and start saving some previous minutes in your content-creating day!
